Safety Guidelines

We are excited that we are able meet in person on

May 16 -19, 2021 for the South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Academy.

To help create a safe environment and to minimize the potential spread of Covid-19, we are working closely with our venue to implement safety protocols to include the following measures:

  • wearing masks in the common areas of the hotel and in all Academy sessions,

  • modifying room set-up ( breakout and general sessions) to comply with the social distancing guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),

  • limiting the number of attendees in breakout sessions,

  • providing hand sanitation stations throughout the venue.

Please note, that by implementing the CDC's recommendations to reduce class sizes, the number of participants per session will be limited. We strongly encourage attendees to arrive early in order to get in their desired session.

We hope all Academy participants will follow the CDC guidelines specific for large events by:

  • staying  at least 6 feet away from people who don’t live with you,

  • not greeting others with physical contact (for example, handshakes),

  • wearing well-fitting masks that fit completely over your nose and mouth,

  • bringing and using masks at the event,

  • practicing hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette,

  • washing your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and if soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol and rub your hands until dry, and

  • avoiding singing or shouting, especially indoors. If possible, keep music levels down so people don’t have to shout or speak loudly to be heard.
